First Ever IS2 CDC PULSE Myocardial Scintigraphy Gamma Camera Installed in Europe
17th September 2004 - News Ref.040917-1

Today engineers from MIC Ltd and IS2 Inc. started installation of the IS2 CDC Pulse Cardiac gamma camera. This is the first ever IS2 CDC PULSE gamma to be installed in Europe. It was purchased by Cardinal InHealth for use as a mobile Myocardial Scintigraphy unit. This unit will tour UK hospitals providing a much needed Myocardial scanning & diagnosis service.

Day 1: This installation will  take a total of 3 days. The camera is delivered as two separate components, the gantry which includes the heads pre-installed and the patient chair or couch. The gantry and table were separately loaded onto the trailer after which the table was attached to the gantry. At this stage the gantry is on wheels, so we then determined the cameras final location, with guidance from Jane & Howard who will be the technologists in charge of day to day patient scanning. With the floor marked, we are now ready to drill the anchor holes.
As the camera is being installed in a trailer it is necessary to firmly secure the camera to the steel floor. The fitters from WH Bense, Coachbuilders of Bristol, drilled and tapped the holes so we could bolt the camera down. The Pegasys processing system was installed and the camera powered up.

Day 2: Today we worked our way down the installation checklist, basically this involved calibration of the camera motions, setting up the network connection between the camera and the Pegasys processing system. Installation of the modem and ISDN router and finished of by fitting all the covers.

Day 3: Today we tuned both detectors. The system is now ready for application training, followed by acceptance testing.
