MIC officially became Spectrum Dynamics's UK D-SPECT service agent in March 2009, however our involvement with the D-Spect camera dates back to August 2007 when the first D-Spect in the UK was installed at UCL Hospital, London for clinical trials.

The Spectrum Dynamics D-SPECT cardiac gamma camera provides a remarkable leap forward in detector technology. Due to the nine solid state detectors the D-spect is capable of scan times of 2 minutes instead of the current 12-20 minutes taken by conventional gamma cameras.
- The D-Spect is 10 times more sensitive, resulting in potentionally reduced dose for the patient.
- Unique reconstruction algorithms complement the nine solid state detectors to provide twice the resolution.
- Spectrum Dynamics Broadview technology provides up to to 50% improvement in energy resolution.
- The D-Spect cardiac imaging system allows the patient to sit in a more natural upright sitting position. Along with shortened acquisition times this reduces the posibility of patient motion during the scan.
